TDAC Thailand FAQ: Everything You Need to Know

The TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) is an online form that replaces the traditional paper-based TM6 arrival card for international travelers entering Thailand. It collects your personal information, travel details, accommodation address, and a health declaration. The TDAC is managed by the Thai Immigration Bureau and must be completed before you arrive in Thailand.

No. The TDAC is not a visa and does not authorize your entry into Thailand. It is a pre-arrival registration requirement that exists alongside your visa, visa exemption, or visa on arrival. You still need the appropriate visa or entry permission to enter the Kingdom.

All non-Thai nationals must complete the TDAC before entering Thailand. This includes tourists, business travelers, long-term residents, transit passengers, digital nomad visa holders, and Thailand Privilege Visa members. Children and infants also need a TDAC, submitted by their parent or guardian.

The TDAC is completely free. There is no fee for registration or submission. Be cautious of unofficial websites that may charge fees for TDAC assistance – always use the official site at tdac.immigration.go.th.

You submit the TDAC on the official Thai Immigration Bureau website at tdac.immigration.go.th. Click “Arrival Card” to start a new registration. The site is available in English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian.

You can submit your TDAC up to 3 days (72 hours) before your arrival date in Thailand, including the arrival date itself. For example, if you arrive on July 15, you can submit starting July 12. Submitting earlier than 3 days will result in the form not being valid for your entry.

Your TDAC is valid from the time you submit it until you arrive in Thailand. It is valid for a single entry only. Once you enter Thailand using that TDAC, it cannot be reused. You must submit a new TDAC for every subsequent entry.

No. Each TDAC is valid for one entry only. Every time you enter Thailand – whether returning from a day trip to Cambodia or coming back from a holiday abroad – you must submit a new TDAC.

If your arrival date changes, you should update your TDAC using the “Update Arrival Card” function, or submit a new form with the correct arrival date. The TDAC must reflect your actual arrival date.

The TDAC requires four categories of information:

• Personal details: Name, passport number, nationality, date of birth, gender, occupation, phone number, email
• Travel details: Arrival date, departure date, flight number, country of embarkation, mode of travel
• Accommodation: Hotel name, full address including province, district, sub-district, postal code
• Health declaration: Countries visited in past 14 days, symptoms, Yellow Fever vaccination status

Yes. The TDAC website is mobile-friendly and works well on smartphones and tablets. Many travelers complete the form on their phone at the airport or while traveling. Just make sure you have a stable internet connection.

Yes. The TDAC system allows group submissions, so a travel companion, family member, or travel agent can submit the form on your behalf. They will need your passport details and travel information.

The TDAC platform currently supports five languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian. The Thai Immigration Bureau may add more languages in future updates.

After successful submission, you receive a confirmation page with a QR code and an email confirmation (if you provided an email address). The QR code is what you show to immigration officers when you arrive in Thailand.

No, printing is not required. You can show the QR code on your phone to the immigration officer. However, carrying a printed copy as a backup is recommended in case of phone issues, dead battery, or connectivity problems.

Yes. The TDAC system complies with Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Your data is only accessible to relevant immigration and border security authorities and is not shared with third parties for commercial purposes.

You have two options depending on which field contains the error:

1. Update your existing form: Use the “Update Arrival Card” function on the TDAC website. You can change most fields including flight number, accommodation address, and travel dates.
2. Submit a new form: If the error is in an unchangeable field (name, passport number, nationality, date of birth), you must submit a completely new TDAC.

The following fields are locked after submission and cannot be updated:

• Full name
• Passport number
• Nationality
• Date of birth

If you need to correct any of these, submit a new TDAC form. The system will use the latest valid submission.

You can update your flight number, travel dates, and accommodation details using the “Update Arrival Card” function. Make sure all information is accurate before you arrive in Thailand.

If you hold a valid Thai re-entry permit, you may be exempt from the TDAC requirement. Check with the Thai Immigration Bureau or your nearest Thai embassy for the latest rules regarding re-entry permit holders.

If you pass through Thai immigration (i.e., you leave the international transit area), you need a TDAC. If you remain in the international transit zone and do not pass through immigration, you may not need one. Confirm with your airline.

Yes. Every traveler, regardless of age, needs a TDAC. Parents or guardians can submit forms on behalf of their children using the group registration feature. You will need each child’s passport details.

Yes. The TDAC requirement applies to all modes of entry – air, land, and sea. If you are crossing a land border, you must still complete the TDAC online before arriving at the border checkpoint.
