How to Fill Out the TDAC Form: Step by Step Guide

Filling out the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is a mandatory step for every foreign visitor entering Thailand. While the online form is straightforward, knowing exactly what to expect at each stage helps you avoid errors and delays. This step-by-step guide walks you through the entire TDAC registration process, from opening the website to saving your confirmation QR code.

Before You Start: What You Need

Gather these documents and details before opening the TDAC website:

• Valid passport – check that it has at least 6 months validity remaining
• Flight or transport details – flight number, arrival date, and departure date
• Accommodation booking – full address of where you will stay in Thailand
• Visa number – if you have a pre-arranged visa (not needed for visa-exempt travelers)
• Phone and email – for receiving confirmation
• Travel history – list of countries visited in the past 14 days

Having all of this information at your fingertips will make the process much faster. Most travelers complete the entire form in 10-15 minutes when prepared.

Step 1: Access the Official TDAC Website

Open your web browser and navigate to tdac.immigration.go.th. This is the only official TDAC website operated by the Thai Immigration Bureau. Avoid third-party sites that may charge unnecessary fees.

On the homepage, you will see two main options:

• Arrival Card – for submitting a new TDAC
• Update Arrival Card – for modifying an existing submission

Click “Arrival Card” to begin a new registration. The site supports five languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian. Select your preferred language from the options at the top of the page.

Step 2: Choose Individual or Group Registration

The TDAC system offers two registration modes:

If you are traveling alone, select Individual. If you are registering for family members or a group, choose Group to submit multiple forms without repeating your own details each time. The group feature is especially useful for families with children.

Step 3: Enter Your Personal Information

This is the most important section of the TDAC form. You must enter your details exactly as they appear on your passport. Any mismatch could cause problems at immigration.

Fields you need to complete:

• Nationality – select from the dropdown menu
• Travel document type – usually “Passport”
• Travel document number – your passport number
• Full name – first name, middle name (if any), and last name as printed on your passport
• Date of birth – in the required format
• Gender – as shown on your passport
• Visa number – enter if you have a visa; leave blank if visa-exempt
• Occupation – your current job title
• Country of residence – where you currently live
• Phone number – include country code
• Email address – for receiving confirmation

Important: Your name, passport number, nationality, and date of birth cannot be changed after submission. Double-check these fields before proceeding. If you make an error on these fields, you will need to submit a completely new TDAC form.

Step 4: Enter Your Travel Information

Next, provide details about your trip to Thailand:

• Arrival date – the date you will enter Thailand
• Departure date – your planned departure date (if known)
• Country of embarkation – the country you are traveling from
• Mode of travel – air, land, or sea
• Flight or vehicle number – your flight number (e.g., TG 101) or bus/boat number
• Port of entry – the airport, border crossing, or seaport where you will arrive

If you are on a connecting flight, enter the final flight number that arrives in Thailand. For overland arrivals, enter the border checkpoint name.

Step 5: Provide Accommodation Details

You must provide the address where you will stay in Thailand. This is a required section, so have your hotel booking confirmation ready.

Required accommodation fields:

• Accommodation type – hotel, hostel, guesthouse, private home, or other
• Name of accommodation – hotel or property name
• Province – the Thai province (e.g., Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket)
• District – the district within the province
• Sub-district – the sub-district
• Postal code – Thai postal code
• Street address – house number, street name, and soi (alley) if applicable

If you are staying at a friend’s or relative’s home, select “Private Residence” and enter their address. If you are visiting multiple cities, enter the address of your first accommodation.

Step 6: Complete the Health Declaration

The health declaration section is mandatory and helps Thai health authorities monitor for communicable diseases. You will be asked:

• Countries visited in the past 14 days – list every country you visited or transited through
• Symptoms – whether you have experienced any symptoms such as fever, cough, or difficulty breathing in the past 14 days
• Yellow Fever vaccination – required if you are arriving from a country with Yellow Fever risk

Countries with Yellow Fever warnings include nations in Africa (such as Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya) and South America (such as Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela). If you have been to any of these countries, you may need to show proof of Yellow Fever vaccination.

Step 7: Review and Submit

Before submitting, carefully review every section of your TDAC form. Pay special attention to:

• Passport number – one wrong digit can cause entry problems
• Name spelling – must match your passport exactly
• Arrival date – must be within 3 days of submission
• Accommodation address – check province and postal code

Once you are satisfied that all information is correct, check the confirmation box and click “Submit”. The system will process your form and generate a confirmation.

Step 8: Save Your QR Code Confirmation

After successful submission, you will see a confirmation page with a QR code. This is your proof of TDAC registration. Take these steps immediately:

1. Screenshot the QR code and save it to your phone’s photo gallery
2. Download the PDF if the option is available
3. Check your email for a confirmation message (if you provided an email)
4. Optionally print a hard copy as a backup

You will need to show this QR code to the immigration officer when you arrive in Thailand. Keep it easily accessible on your phone.

What If You Need to Update Your TDAC?

If your plans change after submission – for example, a new flight number or different hotel – you can update most fields using the “Update Arrival Card” function on the TDAC website. You will need your passport number and original submission reference to access your form.

However, the following fields cannot be updated:

• Full name
• Passport number
• Nationality
• Date of birth

If you need to change any of these, you must submit a completely new TDAC form. The system will automatically use the latest valid submission.
